airport day

airport day

365#210
Doing a 365 photography project, you are bound to have a day spent in airports. These days we find ourselves in transit so often and our children become expert travelers at such a young age.

I still remember my first flight as a child (from Lebanon to Cyprus) and how totally exciting it was for me to get on that flying machine that was almost too magical to comprehend. I still remember so many little details and the flights after that were counted on a diary page proudly as a great achievement in the world of adventures and quests.

Not for my daughter, she flies too much to keep count of her journeys, too often for it to be super special, and too easily available for it to be an achievement. Another strange onset of the modern world we are creating!

Colombo Airport

Colombo Airport

This is my favourite part of Colombo Airport : )

For a small island, Sri Lanka has many nicknames: Serendib, Ceylon, Teardrop of India, Resplendent Isle, Island of Dharma, Pearl of the Orient. This colourful collection reveals its richness and beauty, and the intensity of the affection it evokes in its visitors.
The beach thing may be a cliche, but don't miss them. Then head to the hills to cool off amidst tea plantations and ancient cities. The island teems with bird life, and even the occasional elephant or leopard. To top it all off, the people are friendly, the food is delicious and costs are low.

Halloween Helicopter Candy Drop :: Newspaper Ad

Halloween Helicopter Candy Drop :: Newspaper Ad

The B+W newspaper ad for our Halloween Outreach event at Four Corners Church. We are having a massive candy drop from a helicopter (inspired by Elevation Church), face painting, free food and prize give-aways. We are expecting between 1,000-3,000 people.

We also did a RADIO SPOT (:30) that's running all next week. Some of you mentioned the helicopter in the Door Hanger previously posted so here's the updated one. Let me know what you think about this campaign...

Expedition 26 Commander Scott Kelly is helped as he exits a Russian all terrain vehicle (ATV) that delivered him to a helicopter from the Soyuz TMA-01M spacecraft shortly after the capsule landed with Kelly and Expedition 26 Flight Engineers Oleg Skripochka and Alexander Kaleri near the town of Arkalyk, Kazakhstan on Wednesday, March 16, 2011.
